The coffin of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei made his way through the holy streets of Najaf reaching the holy shrine of Imam Ali. The ceremonies for Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s funeral began on Saturday, with authorities in Tehran shutting down streets and airspace to ensure safety and thesmooth completion of the ceremonial activities. Thousands of people honored the life of Iranian Supreme leader who led Iran with an iron fist against West. The authorities took the body of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei to Karbala before returning to Iran.

“We, the people of Iraq, will remain a thorn in the eyes of the enemies,” said Jaafar Jawad, a funeral attendee. “(His body arriving here) is the greatest possible honor, and God willing, we will be loyal and repay a little of his debt in the holy city of Najaf.”

Therefore, inside the Imam al-Abbas Mosque, organizers decided to lower the coffin in an attempt to stop people who were pushing forward to seek blessings or to participate in carrying it.
